Round 1 of Intern Bootcamp is almost halfway over! 💪🏼 Our interns spend 2 months out of the year in Anesthesia Bootcamp to prepare them for the OR as they transition to CA1 year. Bootcamp consists of lectures, sim labs, ventilator education days,
Round 1 of Intern Bootcamp is almost halfway over! 💪🏼 Our interns spend 2 months out of the year in Anesthesia Bootcamp to prepare them for the OR as they transition to CA1 year. Bootcamp consists of lectures, sim labs, ventilator education days, practice with IVs and arterial lines, as well as time in the OR one on one with a senior resident. By the end of their 2 months, our interns are running their own cases in the OR essentially functioning as CA1s Half of our intern class completes bootcamp in Feb/March, and the other half in May/June. It’s always exciting to see so much growth in such a short time!

We have Cadaver Lab once a year, when residents get hands-on ultrasound practice on live models, as well as block practice on cadavers. It’s always interesting to learn new techniques for pain control, and it’s a great opportunity to practice blocks that you might not see on a regular basis 💉 We have multiple attendings who are trained in regional pain with lots of valuable knowledge to pass on 🧠 Huge thank you to Dr. Mohapatra and all of our acute pain attendings who spent their week teaching the residents in lab! #nopain #residency #residencylife #anesthesia #anesthesiology
