General Information

• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm

  • Interns will take two call weekends.

    • Generally, pages/consults will not require you to come in. If there is a true urgency/emergency, let the pain fellow know and they will help assess the situation.

• Location: UH CMC, Westlake, Richmond, Geauga, Beachwood

• Weekly scheduled is usually emailed out Sunday night.

  • Schedule is split between outpatient clinic and procedure days.

  • Text/email your attending the night prior to confirm when/where to meet in the morning.

• Clinic

  • See patients, present to attending, write notes.

    • While you don’t necessarily have to pre-chart every patient the night prior, it may help move things along if you have the time.

    • Use the sticky note in Epic to write down the following pertinent history:

      • Last visit details (if established patient), imaging, PT history, procedures, meds (OARRS), etc.

  • Have Dragon set up on Epic and on your phone to make writing notes more efficient!

  • Occasionally, you will perform minor office procedures during the visit.

• Procedure Days

  • Consent the patient, mark laterality, confirm AC status, allergies.

  • Assist in perform nerve blocks, steroid injections, ablations, etc.

  • Check in on patients after their procedure, prior to them going home.
